Halloween with Friends

It's been a month now that Zane has been gone and Cally and I have been keeping pretty busy. Sam, who's husband also just left for Afghanistan, has been a great support to me and together we have tried to make time go by faster. From our daily gym routine, to dinners together, to babysitting each other's kiddos and more, we have learned to lean on each other during these hard times. This year for Halloween I invited her over so our kids could go trick or treating and we can celebrate together. We spent some time at my neighbor's Halloween party and then set up camp between mine and Erin's driveway to pass out candy. Erin joined us and we mingled while passing out candy, sipping on mimosas (Erin not included) and watching Cally and Wes play. It was a really fun night and we had a great time!

Sam-Thanks for keeping us company! We love spending time with you and Wes!!

A Trip to the Farm

Just as we did last year, the squadron wives got together with our kids for a fun fall day. We decided to go to Bate's Nut Farm, where the entertainment ranged from a huge pumpkin patch, to a petting zoo, to pony rides, to live music, face painting, rock climbing and much much more.  We picked out a picnic table near the farm animals and set out breakfast which consisted of muffins, fresh fruit, and of course mimosas. The kids ran around looking at all the animals while the adults mingled. Afterwards we took the kids to the pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and pony rides. Some went on hay rides, some climbed rock walls, but we all had a great time!

Fall Fun

Fall is finally here! The leaves are starting to change and I wish I could say the same thing about the weather but that is just not the case. It's still in the 80's-90's here and it feels like summer all day long. So in order to get in the fall spirit, Erin and I decided we should go to a pumpkin patch nearby embedded in the middle of wine country. We dragged Mike along with us and  the 4 of us had a great time.

There was a petting zoo with all sorts of little creatures and Cally had a blast running around and petting them all. We did too. After the petting zoo we walked around the pumpkin patch trying to find a pumpkin as big as Erin, she's now 7 months pregnant and glowing! We then took Cally to the ponies for her first pony ride. I thought she would be too scared because every time she's near a horse, she freaks out. Well, these ponies were more her size. When I put her on it, she was a bit skeptical but as soon as they started moving she loved it!!! It was fun watching her go around and Mike and Erin were great at capturing the moment!

We finished our outing going through the corn maze. Cally led the way, sometimes not the right way, but we eventually made it out.

Thanks Mike and Erin for coming out with us. We had a great time! It's so nice to know you guys are around to keep us busy and entertained while Zane is gone! Love you guys!

Here's a few pictures of Cally that I have taken the last couple of days. She is so big now and just continues to grow! We have so much fun together! I just love her so!
