On the Road Again...

The time is finally here and Cally and I are headed home to be reunited with our pups and get ready for Zane to get back. It has been wonderful to be able to spend time with my family and stay busy to keep time moving, but as nice as that has been, I'm glad it's coming to an end because it just means we're one step closer to seeing "daddy" again. The drive back home is about 17 hours long and I was dreading doing it alone but lucky for me Danny and Mikey decided they would like to make the roadtrip and help me with the drive and Cally. So with the car stuffed to the rim with all of our stuff, we headed down south crossing the Rocky Mountains and stopping in Vegas for the night. We spent the following day riding all the rollercoasters in Vegas and a few hours later we were finally home.

It feels so great to be home, but it still doesn't feel quite like home without the dogs and Zane. I will be picking up the dogs from LAX in a few days and Zane will be home in not much longer. I can't wait to have our family back together again! We're almost there!

To my wonderful family: Thank you so much for taking Cally and I in once again and making our time there so wonderful! Your help, encouragement, and support means the world to me and I will always be eternally grateful to you all for being so great to us! I love you all!

"Swim Champion"

Since the first weekend we arrived, Cally and "Papa" (Grandpa Raul) have followed a very strict routine. Every Saturday, after Papa swims his laps at the Brighton Rec Center pool, we meet up with him to swim. I drop her off and go work out while they swim together for a good hour or so. Cally enjoys every minute of it and as each week goes by, she improves more an more. She can now hold her breath under water and can swim maybe a foot or two underwater. "Papa" calls her his "swim champion" and is sure she will one day be an olympic swimmer. Until then, she's really enjoying her time in the water and looks forward to it every weekend. With our time in Denver coming to an end, I hope I can keep up her swimming skills back home. She just loves the water and the pool!

A Day at the Farm (sort of...)

The famous Denver Stock show is in town so I decided to take Cally for the day. She absolutely loves all animals and I thought it would be a super fun way to spend the day. From cattle, sheeps, pigs, and horses, as well as goats, llamas, ponies and many more other animals, the stock show was filled with things to see and do. We spent the whole day learning about all the different animals, petting them, and just having a great time. What a fun day!

Ouch!

Today my poor baby girl experienced her first big "owie." I had taken the car seat out of the car to wash it and placed it in the downstairs computer room. She decided to climb in it and stand while holding on to the back side of it and leaned a little too far tipping the whole thing back. The car seat was sitting somewhat in front the futon sofa and when it tipped back she fell right onto the edge of the wooden part of the sofa, face first, hitting her eye. Almost immediately a bruise appeared. She didn't cry for long at all but her eye looks pretty bad although it now doesn't seem to be bothering her at all. I'm hoping it heals quickly, in the meantime I'm getting alot of weird stares from people when we're out and about, probably wondering how a sweet little girl gets a bruise like that!

Milk Time

Milk time, for both Cally and baby!

Big Baby

I think it may be time to upgrade Cally to a full sized bathtub, but she just loves the sink!

Snow Fun

It's a pretty cold day but the sun is out and it has stopped snowing so we decided to walk down the block and get some sledding in. Last time we went sledding Cally wasn't a big fan but I decided we should try again. Just a short walk from my parents house there's a pretty nice hill to go down so Mike and  Danny grabbed their snowboards and I a sled and we all headed down with Cally to try the hill out. With fresh snow on the ground the sledding conditions were not that great since it really slowed us down and sprayed snow on Cally's face every time we picked up speed. After just a few attempts she had enough and we decided that playing in the snow would be a little bit more fun. Meanwhile, the boys decided to build a small slope to do some jumps and Cally and I watched as they attempted to catch some air. It was fun but it got pretty cold after a while so we called it a day. Cally loved playing in the snow but we still need to work on the sledding ;o).
