Off to School

The day is finally here and Cally couldn't wait to get to school! We had a great morning together and soon began to get ready for her new adventure. I couldn't help but snap a few shots of her cuteness, but she didn't let me take too many since she was so eager to get in the car and go. When we got to school I walked her to her classroom, helped her put her backpack away in her cubby and she easily said goodbye to me with no reservations. She ran off to play and I walked away a sobbing mess! Since I am still in orientation  and have not started my actual shift, I was able to pick her up myself and get the report from the teachers. She had a great first day and they think she's gonna do great! I'm so proud of my little girl and I can't believe we are already at this point in her life. She seems to be handling the transition quite well, now if I could only do the same....

New Beginnings

After a wonderful two years at home, I have decided to return to work. I got a job in an ER here in town and I'm excited to get back into the field of nursing. With that said, I am also torn because working means I have to put Cally in daycare. I've been a bit hesitant to do it, but she seems ready. We have visited her school several times, she has met her teachers and she's eager to go. The school looks wonderful and I know she will have a great time there! I think it will be a harder transition for me than for her, but I'm willing to try it out. I will be working the mid shift, from noon to midnight, 3 times a week which means Cally will go to school for several hours on those days and daddy will pick her up and take over the evening routine. This is a trial for us and I hope it works out!

So in preparation for her first day, I took her to get her first haircut! She did wonderful and loved being pampered. She is so excited for school and is looking forward to all the new things she will learn, see and do with her new "friends."

Congratulations Klay and Erica!

After 13 years together, my sister calls me up and says, "I think I want to finally get married." Of course, I'm super excited to hear the news but shocked when she continues to tell me that she wants to do it "next month." Next month??? It takes a while to plan a wedding! Is she crazy!? But since she wanted something small, intimate, and simple, we put our heads together and began planning right away. She set a date and after a few short weeks, we had everything planned out.

The day  quickly came and Klay and Erica wed on the gorgeous Coronado beach with all of our family present to witness their beautiful union. It was exciting and wonderful to see my beautiful sister "walk down the aisle" and so wonderful to see them come full circle. With their two amazing kids on their side, they said their vows and it was a very touching moment.

Klay and Erica: I wish you nothing but everlasting love and happiness! We're so happy for you guys and are so glad we could be a part of your special day! We love you!
