A Week With Friends

My wonderful friend Stephanie and her family came out to California for a small vacation and stayed with us for the week. It was great to have them around and spend some time together. Cally had such a fun time hanging out with Tennison and Jackson and I loved having one of my best friends here for a week to hang out with and talk to. Thanks for coming out guys! 2 Months Old!

Hunter is 2 months old! I took him in for his 2 month check up and he's one healthy little fella. He now weighs 14 lbs 13.5 oz (90th percentile), is 24 inches long (75th percentile) and has a head circumference of 16 inches (50th percentile). He continues to be a great baby and we love him so much. Here are a few new things Hunter has been doing in the past month:

-He continues to gain better control of his head and neck movement.
-He can follow an object with his eyes and turns his head towards it
-He recognizes my voice and seems to know who I am
-He has begun to "talk" and responds by making sounds like " agoo" when you talk to him
-He smiles!!!
-He's found his left hand and sucks on it when he is able to put it in his mouth
-Most nights he sleeps for a stretch of 6-7 hours before waking

Cally seems to have gotten used to having him around and is a great little helper. She has yet to show too many signs of jealousy and seems to really like him. With so much traveling and visitors, I don't feel like I have really established a routine yet but we get by and I'm having a blast being a mother of two. I feel so lucky to be their mom!

A visit from Aunt Gloria (aka Madrina)

My Aunt Gloria came out to California for a very short visit while in the U.S. and we got the chance to hang out and spend some time together. It had been a very long time since we've seen each other (other than our short visit in Denver) and it was so wonderful to see her and catch up! I really enjoyed her visit and loved having her around. She's an amazing lady and I only hope that our next visit comes a lot sooner! Thanks for coming out Madrina! We love you!

4th of July Camp out

Last year we spent the 4th of July on the beach in Camp Pendleton. It was jam packed with people all celebrating our nation's birthday with live music, great food, and fun activities. We had a blast but had some trouble finding a good spot because it seemed like every inch of sand was taken. This year, we planned ahead and reserved a much desired spot in the RV campsite area. So with our toyhauler, we set up camp for a 5 day camp out on the beach and spent the 4th of July along with a few other days soaking it up. The 4th of July there did not disappoint, once again filled with live music, tons of activities for kids, great food and amazing fireworks. We had a great time and look forward to it again next year. What a fun week!
