Family Time

We recently found out that Zane will be deploying once again, this time to Afghanistan. Although we were a bit surprised, we quickly accepted it and dealt with it, afterall there's not much more we could do. Our plans of finishing the floors upstairs, a holiday vacation, and possibly expanding our family was put to a hault. Now we are focused on spending as much time together as a family and doing fun stuff before the dreadful day that he has to leave again.

This weekend we decided to take the dogs to Dog Beach to let them run around, swim, and frolic in the sand. Cally is such a dog lover that she too is in heaven when we go. There are so many dogs to look at and play with that she doesn't even know where to begin. It's so fun to watch her interact with all sorts of pups and I love watching her play with Zane. They are so great together and have such a blast. Cally loves her daddy so much and Zane can't get enough of her. We spent the day together, all 5 of us, enjoying eachother and the beautiful weather while being grateful to be together.

A Disney Day

My brother Carlos and his girlfriend Valonika came out to visit us in Cali and spent a week going around to all the cool places there is to see around here. Because Zane was usually at work, we were unable to do too many things together, but Cally and I hung out with them as much as we could while still giving them their space to do their "couple" outings. One of the places they wanted to visit was Disneyland and we made sure we could all go there since it's such a fun thing to do together.

This was Cally's first time and I think I was more excited for her than she was. Of course, that's only because she wasn't aware of what she was about to see. From the Jungle Cruise, to It's a Small World, to Mickey's Toontown and everything in between, Cally was in awe of all the wonderful things she saw.

We also hopped over to Disneyland's California Adventure and spent some time there. Both parks were super fun and it was great to have my brother Carlos and Valonika there with us. Valonika had never been any Disney parksso it was great to see an adult's reaction to such a great place, which was the same as a kid's, by the way. And, because they were there, Zane and I were able to ride the adult rides as well while they watched Cally which was great for us! Here's some pictures of our fun day!

1st Annual Running Family Reunion

The first Running Family Reunion was held this month and we had a blast. Although not all the Running family was able to make it, most did, and it was great to see everyone, hang out, and catch up. John, Zane's dad, had a daily intenirary filled with games and competitions to keep us all very busy and entertained. "The schedule" defintiely made it interesting and although sometimes we were overwhlemed with activities, it was all worth it. From croquet to badminton, to golf, to horsehoes, to sandcastle building, to movie night and much more, we spent a week together having a blast. When we were not following "the schedule" we spent our time zip lining across the lake, sunbathing, fishing,and catching up with family. John and Zane took some time to build the lastest attraction at Running Bear Lake, "The Elephant, " a large rope swing built out of an I-beam that hangs over the water to swing from. With so much to do, our time flew by and soon our week long reunion came to an end, but with us we took some wonderful memories. It was so nice to hang out with everyone and continue building such great relationships with such great people.  I'm lucky to say that I married into a wonderful  family and feel so lucky to have them all in my life. John and Mary, thank you so much for making our week in TN so memorable and fun! Here's to many more Running Reunions!!!
