Home Away From Home

We've been at my parents for a few weeks now and it has been wonderful! Just to be around others and getting a hand with the kiddos has been amazing. Hunter is passed around and entertained by so many and Cally is loving her new surroundings and spending time with her uncles and grandparents. I have been able to go out and run errands alone, which if you have children, understand the magnitude of this "freedom." I have also been able to attend a weekly yoga class to help me de-stress, relax and have some time to myself.  We are all enjoyig our time here and it has gone by really fast. Here are some pics of the kiddos lounging around and hanging out with family.

Disney on Ice!

Disney on Ice came to Denver and we couldn't be more excited! My dad's company owns a suite at the Pepsi center, so we've been blessed to go to basketball and hockey games and other events like these when we please. So when I found out that the Disney princesses would be here, I was thrilled.  I took Cally a few years ago, but she was much too young to remember any of it. This time around, I knew she would absolutely love it and definitely remember the experience. I met up with my brother, Valonika, and my sweet little niece, Aeria, and we all enjoyed the show together.

The show was amazing and Cally was hypnotized by all the magic the entire time! What a fun day!

After the show, Cally came home and immediately got into her dress up clothes. She played and pretended to be an ice skating princess. After not hearing from her for a while,  I went to check on her and found her locked up in the bathroom. When she opened the door, her face was covered in makeup and the bathroom was destroyed. Here's a picture of my beautiful princess and her makeover:

Santa!

Today I took the kids to go see Santa. Cally was ecstatic just thinking about seeing him and couldn't wait! In line she was jumping up and down with excitement knowing that she was soon going to meet big guy in red, but when it was her turn, she bashfully hid behind me and wanted nothing to do with him. It took took alot of convincing, but she finally sat on his lap and quietly whispered to him what she wanted for Christmas.

Hunter, ofcourse, was clueless the whole time. Haha.

6 Months Old

It's been another month and the little one keeps getting bigger and bigger and cuter and cuter. Hunter is now 6 months old! He continues to be such a good baby and I love having him around. He now weighs 21 lbs 12.5 oz, that's is above 95th percentile for weight, which does not surprise me at all since he's such a chunker! He is 26 inches long, 70th percentile for height, and his head circumference is 18 inches. He is one big healthy boy!

Hunter continues to play in the exersaucer and has become really intrigued with toys or anything that is placed in front of him. His eyes light up and he bounces with excitement as he reaches for anything and everything. Of course it all goes directly in his mouth and he gnaws on it with much satisfaction. Lights and sounds also fascinate him and its so fun to watch him get so excited.

Our big guy can now sit up all by himself which is a nice change. I am able to sit him down and place a few toys in front of him and he keeps himself entertained for a while. Of course he is still wobbly at times so I make sure to have pillows surrounding him but he does pretty well for the most part.

I have noticed that he loves to have me in his sight at all times. He's been able to recognize me for a while now, but he insists on having me at eyesight as often as possible and cries when I leave the room. Although this may sound bad, I don't mind it at all, in fact I love that he loves me so much.

He is now getting his 3rd tooth on the upper left side and looks quite ridiculous with that lonesome one just hanging out up top, but hopefully the rest will fill in soon, regardless he is as cute as ever!

Unfortunately, Hunter's sleeping has continued to regress and I blame that partly on teething. He tosses and turns throughout the night and insists on nursing to put himself back to sleep. He is frantic about biting things and slobbers like crazy. I know this is only the beginning so we just take it one day at a time.

Overall, our guy is just wonderful and is growing up so fast! Its so wonderful to watch him grow and learn new things but at the same time bittersweet. He's such a great little guy!

Hunter's 1st Haircut

Hunter had his first haircut today! Although it was hard for me knowing that his beautiful baby hair was going to be cut, it had become a necessity since his cute wispy blonde hair started to look like a comb over! My wonderful friend Samee gave him his first haircut in the comfort of our own home and he did great. Here's some pictures of our handsome guy getting a new look!
